Start your own prayer meetings – get praying!!

Delegates attending our annual conferences often say how wonderful it is to be united in prayer and commitment and what a good idea it is to get together. They also like all the inspiring ideas and the buzz of a shared passion for little children and families.

So why not get going with your own prayer meetings in your locality!!

It doesn’t take too much effort to get in touch with other Parent Toddler Groups in nearby churches and invite them for coffee or lunch together - to get to know each other better and to pray together.

Obtain a directory of toddler groups in your area from the excellent website ‘Netmums’ www.netmums.com. This is a national website offering an amazing comprehensive source of information for families and family life set in local areas of the UK.

You can log in for free (with your own password) and then search the site for your own regional provision.

There are also local free magazines and newspapers for families with listings for local parent toddler groups, pre-schools etc.

You may also have the Pre-School Learning Alliance active in your area with funding of Parent Toddler Group Development workers who visit your groups and who can help encourage these cross links between Church groups.

Then arrange a date to meet and host your time for share and prayer.

Offer tea coffee, or cold drinks and invite new friends to bring a sandwich.

Young children in tow should be welcomed if possible as those involved with running or helping in groups are often those with young children themselves. Offer some toys for children to play with as you meet.

Agree on issues of confidentiality and the basis for meeting. Give time for listening and sharing and keep to time! Remember to leave time for prayer by having a time keeper!

Keep in touch and arrange another date for meeting before you depart.

Let others know you are meeting. Try to contact other church groups and keep in touch with those who might not be able to make the date.

Think about changing the days you meet to give others an opportunity to attend.
